  1. MCBase license agreement.
  2.  
  3. MCBASE IS NOT FREE SOFTWARE.
  4.  
  5. The registration key, which you receive from us after registering, is
  6. STRICTLY PERSONAL and may not be duplicated other than for backup purposes
  7. on your personal behalf, as it turns the shareware version of MCBase V2.x
  8. into a registered version. An MCBase registration key must be treated like
  9. a book, in that the same registration key may not be used on more than one
  10. computer at the same time, just as a book cannot be read by more than one
  11. person at the same time.

  13. By registering your copy of MCBase you do NOT become the owner of this
  14. software package, but you are granted the fully supported use of the MCBase
  15. database system. The MCBase software package will remain the total property
  16. of the author, Harry Doldersum, under all circumstances.

  18. Users are granted a limited license to use the SHAREWARE version of MCBase
  19. for a limited evaluation period (See "Evaluation period") in order to
  20. determine if the produkt meets their needs. Any other use of MCBase or use
  21. past this period requires registration. (PLEASE NOTE THAT CONTINUED USE
  22. AFTER THE EVALUATION PERIOD WITHOUT VALID REGISTRATION IS A VIOLATION OF
  23. COPYRIGHT LAWS).

  25. Evaluation period:      You may EVALUATE this copy of the MCBase database
  26.                         system for a period of 30 days (OR until you've
  27.                         reached the EVALUATION LIMIT for a database, which
  28.                         ever comes first), to determine if it meets your
  29.                         needs. After this trial period you must register
  30.                         (buy) your copy at the given address (see the MCBa-
  31.                         se orderform within the documentation set) OR STOP
  32.                         using this software.

  34. Evaluation limit:       While in it's shareware status, MCBase is limiting
  35.                         itself to accomodate (roughly) 30 albums. We are
  36.                         assuming that when you have entered these 30 albums
  37.                         (or whatever database that might be the first to
  38.                         reach it's shareware evaluation limit), you're
  39.                         BEYOND the point of an EVALUATION USAGE.

  42. All users are granted a limited license (and are encouraged) to copy the
  43. shareware version (NOT the registered version: DO NOT SHARE YOUR PERSONAL
  44. REGISTRATION KEY) of MCBase only for the purpose of allowing others to try
  45. it, subject to the above restrictions as well as these:
  46.  
  47.       MCBase must be distributed in absolutely unmodified form, including
  48.       all program, documentation and other files as found in the original
  49.       MCBxxx.ZIP (xxx = version number) archive file. If you MUST repack
  50.       the ZIP-archive then please make sure you include all files as found
  51.       in the original archive.

  53.       MCBase may not be included with any other product for any reason
  54.       whatsoever without a written license from the author: Harry Dolder-
  55.       sum.
  56.  
  57.       No payment may be charged for MCBase, other than a fee to cover
  58.       copying expences.
  59.  
  60. Bulletin Board system operators may post the unregistered SHAREWARE version
  61. of MCBase on their BBS for downloading by their users WITHOUT written
  62. permission of the author (= Harry Doldersum) ONLY if the above mentioned
  63. conditions are met, and only if no special fee is necessary to access the
  64. MCBase archive file.

  66. Distributors of SHAREWARE and Public Domain software, MUST obtain written
  67. permission from the author (Harry Doldersum) before distributing MCBase and
  68. must follow the above mentioned conditions (EXCLUSIONS: PLEASE SEE "IMPOR-
  69. TANT NOTES" BELOW). Permission is almost always granted; this requirement
  70. is necessary to ensure protection for ourselves and MCBase users from
  71. unscrupulous individuals.

  75. -1)   You may not advertize MCBase as free software, but as SHAREWARE only!
  76.       Please explain the shareware concept to prospective buyers.
  77. -2)   Distributors, who are an ASP member (or those who follow the ASP's
  78.       guidelines), do NOT need our written permission for distribution. 
  79. -3)   ALL distributors and/or BBS-systems must seize distributing MCBase
  80.       within one month of written request by the author.

  90. event shall the author be liable for ANY damages or loss arising out of the
  91. use or inability to use this software, even if the author has been advised
